3 Reasons You Should Hire an Agency

3 Reasons You Should Hire an Agency

Let’s do an imagination exercise, shall we? Imagine you’ve just financially reached the point in your business where you can afford to put money in to real marketing. You know, the kind that involves pay-per-click ads, a solid social media presence, and maybe even a local television commercial. You’re going to re-brand your literature, get a new logo, and modernize your website. You’re going to start playing big. Aside from the costs of printing, PPC ads, and the commercial, you need to make room in the budget to hire someone to do the job. How much, though? That depends. Are you going to hire in-house, or enlist an agency?

I’m going to tell you to hire an agency. However, it’s not because Visceral Concepts is an agency. I’ve got some very valid reasons that I want you to hear. And, when it comes down to it, you can hire someone else if you’d like, but I hope that you’ll contact us first to find out how we can help.

3. Lower Cost.

According to PayScale.com, the median salary for a marketing director is $78,713 per year. Add in benefits, worker’s comp insurances, and any other required expenses in training, and the range jumps up about another $20k. All-in-all you can expect to spend about $100k per year on an in-house marketing director. Meanwhile, our highest quote ever for a full-service marketing contract was $4095 per month. That’s only $49k per year, or about half the cost. Even on the lower end of the scale, we’ll save you at least $2,000-$3,000 per year.

2. Higher Quality.

When you have one person wearing all the hats of a marketing department, the quality is bound to decrease. Remember, they’ve got to design, write copy, take pictures, program the website, set up and film that commercial, run ad campaigns… It’s a bit much for just one person. Agencies have the distinct advantage of applying multiple marketing specialists to your project, allowing everything to get done quickly and at the highest quality available.

1. More Experience.

If you’re going to hire in house, you’ve got two options. You can pay for experience by offering the top of the pay scale ($155,307+) for a great marketing director, or you can lower the pay and get someone with less experience. The more affordable the person is, the less experience they tend to have. An agency, on the other hand, not only has years of experience implementing marketing plans, but they also have a broader array of experience brought in by each member of their team. They can hand-select the right type of experience for your company’s needs to assure that you get the best marketing around.

There is a reason that even companies like Coke and McDonald’s hire marketing agencies instead of handling their marketing in-house. It’s almost always more bang for the buck (as long as you hire a quality agency). If you’d like to know more about having a marketing agency on your side, get in touch with us. It could save you thousands now and make you millions in the long run.
