Skate By Being Yourself

Sometimes, as entrepreneurs, we can spend a lot of time trying to create an image that reflects something we aren’t. It becomes a bit of a curse to keep up a false face in order to avoid offending others. That’s why I’m bringing you this neat little interview courtesy of Entrepreneur Magazine. It’s an interview with the highest-paid action sports star ever, and one of the most successful celebrity-turned-entrepreneurs ever. Tony Hawk gives us some great advice on success without abandoning who you are.

I think, for me, the best bit of advice he gave came in the form of the story he told about investing in a high-end denim company and how that hurt the rest of the company. It’s that synergy that he’s talking about that really makes or breaks things, and you have to work your butt off to make sure it’s heading things in the right direction.

What do you think of this skating legend’s entrepreneurial advice? Share your thoughts in the comments below, and make sure you share this with your friends. Have an awesome Tuesday, and we’ll see you tomorrow!
