The Year Winding Down

It’s Christmas Eve, and technically I’m off. Even though a small business owner is never off work, I’m not seeking new clients or working on sales today. I have a few items to clean up for some clients, and I have a few around the office type things to finish up. The work is minimal at best. I imagine it’s the same for most of you as well. It’s probably quiet around the office, and you’re basically doing end-of-year cleanup. That is, if you’re even at the office at all.

It’s a great time to make changes, like the ones we suggested Friday. However, it’s also a great time to plan for what’s coming in the new year. After Christmas, there are only 5 business days – Friday won’t really count, though – before 2015. Most companies and clients will be thinking about their New Years’ Party, or planning their resolutions. There usually isn’t much done in the line of sales or new clients over the last week of the year.

We’re making a simple suggestion this week. Take some time to consider what new products or programs 2015 might bring. Think about the new advertising campaigns you’ll be running. Plan out new social media strategies based on 2014’s data. Most importantly, make sure you have a plan to build your customer base early in the year. The sooner your growth begins, the better your year will be.

Here are some of the new resources you’ll be seeing in 2015:

Visceral TV

We’ve finally worked out the details of our planned Visceral TV channel. Beginning January, we’ll release one episode per month. Each episode will contain something of use for you that will be unlike our articles. These episodes will feature hands-on tutorials, reviews, and builds for all sorts of useful technology and tools for your small business.

The Visceral Concepts Podcast

This weekly feature will be hosted on our SoundCloud page and featured here. These will be brief chats about a number of business innovations, news, technology, and services that don’t really fit in our standard weekly categories. It will also feature interviews from local business leaders detailing the secrets of their success. It will be a brand new and amazing source of information.

What about you? What are your plans for the new year? What do you think of our offerings? Leave your thoughts in the comments below. We’ll be dark tomorrow for Christmas, and we’ll see you again Friday. Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, and a blessed holiday season.
